Nate Wallshein provides strategic counsel to real estate firms, high net worth individuals, family offices, and middle-market businesses in the United States on real estate, oil and gas, and related tax matters.

Nate has extensive experience in commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions and sales, development, zoning and land use, commercial leasing, construction agreements, public and private financing, PPMs, opportunity zones, business planning, and entity formation.

A 2010 cum laude graduate of the University of Connecticut, Nate obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado School of Law in 2013. He received his Master of Laws in taxation as well as a certificate in State and Local Tax from Georgetown University Law Center, where he graduated with distinction and member of the dean’s list. Nate was named a Rising Star by Colorado Super Lawyers Magazine in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024. Nate was named a 2022 Northern Colorado Forty under 40 honoree by BizWest. Prior to joining Hamre, Rodriguez, Ostrander & Prescott, P.C., Nate Wallshein was a named partner at a prominent northern Colorado law firm, where he led the firm’s transaction practice.

Nate is licensed to practice law in Colorado and the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association and a former board member of The Matthews House. He currently serves as a sub-committee chair for the ABA’s Corporate Counsel committee.
